Our Philosophy
We believe our purpose is to foster a sense of self-discovery, curiosity and wonder in every child.
A child’s sense of self and individuality is enriched through opportunities, experiences and relationships which inspire the discovery of self as an individual, as a learner and in finding their place in the world.
Teachers closely observe to get to know each child’s emotional, physical, mental, spiritual and educational needs. These observations guide them in building close relationships while creating a supportive environment that enriches their natural way of growing as a person.
Classrooms are designed to be fluid spaces, created and re-created as children's needs evolve. Materials, activities, conversations, routines and staffing are all adapted as needs grow and change. Collaboration with community programs and use of outside supports allow us to understand new teaching strategies and children’s development to ensure we continue to offer families the best care possible.
Learning is best when it takes place naturally throughout your child’s day. Therefore, our lessons are often pulled from daily interactions and engagements with the children. Staff introduce many new concepts and build on existing ideas by offering a wide variety of materials, activities and experiences for which the children have expressed interest or concepts they see can be developed to expand learning.
This “child-led, adult-enriched" approach, also known as “Emergent Curriculum”, offers children well-rounded learning opportunities where learning is fun and comes naturally to the children.
We commonly hear from our parents that children attending our programs are very well-prepared when they attend Kindergarten, which is a wonderful testament to our hard-working staff and our student-focused approach!
