Steps Academy is proud to offer our children a variety of nutritional and well-balanced meals to keep their brains well-fueled. We work closely with families to stay well-informed so we can provide the best meal options daily and ensure that snacks and meals are carefully selected to ensure allergies and sensitivities are always taken into consideration.
Every day the children are offered morning snack at 9:30am, lunch at 12pm, and a final afternoon snack at 3:00pm. All snacks include a glass of milk or a serving of dairy, fresh fruit or veggies and grains. On days when dairy is offered as a smoothie or yogurt, milk is not served unless it is requested by the child.
Please note, as Big Steps Academy (BSA) is an out of school care program and the children are not there during meal times, unless your child attends as part of the "Extra Steps" program during PD days, or is attending summer camps, meals & snacks are not necessary during their time at BSA.
Effective May 1st, 2023, our very own Lina’s Italian Market started catering our lunches again! After working closely with Chef Michael to carefully craft a 4-week menu for our children, we were able to launch the first ever, Bambini’s program with Lina's!
Bambini’s is designed to offer healthy and delicious meals based on the foundation of the true Italian-style love for amazing food, while also keeping in mind what the children love too! As with much of Lina’s food, most ingredients are prepared from scratch and with great care for detail. Every day, Chef Michael works to prepare, cook, and sometimes deliver our meals hot and fresh to the children every day!
All meals are posted on the HiMama App for parents to see as needed and please email us at [email protected] with any questions or dietary needs your child might have.
We ask that anytime your child’s dietary needs change, that you send an email directly to [email protected] to have your child’s file updated. This ensures we have the most up-to-date information to share with the educators, and that we can communicate any change to Chef Michael ASAP.
