The successful candidate will instruct a range of courses in the Early Childhood Education programs. The ideal candidate would have expertise in the Early Childhood Education profession (with front line experience working with young children between 3-8 yrs old), and/or leadership experience in early learning and education.
The successful candidate will develop an effective learning environment for students as well as respect the individual learning styles and diverse cultural and educational backgrounds of students in our programs. In addition to possessing expertise in the profession of Early Childhood Education, the successful candidate should be committed to working in a team environment that supports inclusive programming.
Responsibilities
Steps Academy faculty provide academic leadership to programs and courses within their areas of expertise and contribute to the creation of a learning-centered environment where students can develop to their full potential. They also contribute to the Academy, Faculty and program excellence by collaborating on a variety of initiatives such as new program development, applied research and alternative delivery strategies.

- Ensuring that program and course core curriculum are followed
- Creating an effective environment for learning which accommodates students’ diverse cultural and, experiences and individual learning styles
- Following appropriate strategies and tools for facilitating and assessing student learning that are
- invitational and reflective of best practices in teaching and learning
Qualifications
- Current ECE certification OR commensurate experience with a commitment to complete ECE Level CDA within six months; Bachelor's Degree in a related field an asset
- Minimum one or more years of relevant professional experience with young children
- Working knowledge of various curriculum's; work experience within an Emergent Curriculum and planning for the same a definite asset
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
- Committed to excellence in teaching and learning and to working within a team environment
